There are so many wonderful gourmet coffee brands on the market today, it can be overwhelming choosing just one. Just ask around and you’ll see. Chances are if you ask someone they will tell you exactly what their favorite brand is. People seem to be quite loyal to their preferred gourmet coffee brand, and do not mind telling you all about it!

Some of the most popular gourmet coffee brands on the market today are:

Gevalia

Capella Coffee

Dean & Deluca coffee

Gloria Jeans

Starbucks

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Emeril’s Gourmet Coffee

Martinez Fine Coffees

Leroy Hill Coffee

Sanani Coffee

Seattle’s Best Gourmet Coffee

Blue Mountain Coffee

Finding the best, or the top gourmet coffee, is something many of us strive to find. The thing is, it is truly in the “cup” of the beholder! It is very subjective and depends on what you love to drink. So, the question is what is your top gourmet coffee?

Some people prefer light roasts, such as a blond or cinnamon roast, with notes that are not soft and subtle and easy to sip on any time of day. Think of a coffee that goes from day to night with ease. Other people, like myself, prefer a heavier roast with robust and intense notes. Therefore, finding the “top gourmet coffee” is truly up to your very own palate!

When thinking about top gourmet coffee some of the most expensive coffees come to mind, such as Kona Coffee, Kopi Luwak & Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. These are considered some of the top coffees because they are grown in small regions, a longer process to cultivate and more rare than most coffees. The more rare, the more expensive.

Personally, my top gourmet coffee is whatever is hot and fresh, and in my cup in the morning!

Buying gourmet coffee is as simple as a click of a mouse! Now, many gourmet coffee purveyors are offering delicious coffee for purchase online. No longer is Kona coffee only a thing to try while in Hawaii, but now it can be delivered to your very own front door!

This is also great for other gourmet coffee that are site specific such as Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee or Kopi Luwak coffee. These hard to find coffees are now easily available for purchase any time of day, or day of the week! The important thing to remember when buying gourmet coffee is to think about what you like (what roasts, what blends, what regions). After you have figured that out, buying coffee is as easy as 1-2-3.

Another great way to buy gourmet coffee is to stop in at your favorite local gourmet coffee shop. See what they have to offer and purchase a bag! It is time to support those local mom and pop coffee shops, after all!

Gourmet coffee roasters are machines that roast coffee beans to a desired level of darkness, based off your personal tastes. These machines are not only available for retail purchase, but also for at-home usage. Personally, I love the idea of owning a gourmet coffee roaster because then I can control the flavors and notes of my very own cup of coffee!

Gourmet coffee roasters are tailored to roast beans to three different levels: light, medium and dark. The darker the roast, the more robust and intense the flavor will be. The lighter the roast, the more acidic the coffee will be. If you are looking to roast your own gourmet coffee, you can easily purchase a gourmet coffee roaster online. These range from very inexpensive, around $20, to quite expensive, depending on how much you want to spend.

Another way to roast coffee beans is with the use of a sheet pan and an oven! You can roast your own beans just by using your oven.

Some examples of light roasts are: Cinnamon or Blond roasts. These are roasts that are considered the lightest, dreinkable roasts. Light roasts are often associated with sharp, acidic tones.

Medium roasts would include: New England roast, American Roast and City Roast. These are the most popular and widely consumed roasts of coffee. They are known for good varietal character and bittersweet flavors. This is personally, my favorite roast!

Dark roasts would include: Vienna Roast, French Roast, Italian Roast and Spanish Roast. These are beans that have been roasted to a dark down, almost black roast. They are known for their bittersweet and almost caramel-y flavor. These are typically used for espresso beans, and in turn are the base for many gourmet coffee drinks.

Some other gourmet coffee companies may focus on particular roasts. For instance, a very popular roast is a Spanish roast that is roasted for a long time and provides intense flavors and robust notes.
Some very popular gourmet coffee beans come from places like Ethiopia, Hawaii, Jamaica and Guatemala. The climates and weather conditions in these areas produce some of the most coveted gourmet coffee beans in the world. Many of the coffee beans are so delicious, people choose to cover them with chocolate and eat them as perfect pick me ups in the morning (myself included).

As there are so many types of gourmet coffee beans, choosing a favorite one can be quite tough. Personally, I love Kona coffee and revel in a cup every now and then as a special treat! Do you have a favorite coffee? Leave a comment letting us know!

Some of the most coveted and elaborate coffee drinks such as espresso, latte, cappuccino & mocha all start with the glorious gourmet coffee bean.

The great thing about these delicious little beans is they can be roasted to a precise level to cater to your specific coffee tastes. Light roasts, such as a cinnamon or blond roast provide very subtle coffee notes that are suitable for drinking anytime of day. Medium roasts provide a more robust flavor and dark roasts, such as a Spanish roast are quite intense in flavor.

Gourmet coffee beans are the base for the wonderful beverage so many of us love — gourmet coffee! To me, I cannot imagine a day without it. I literally think about coffee the second I wake up! It gets me motivated to get out of bed and get my day going in a delicious direction.

So, when talking about gourmet coffee beans, there are so many different kinds to choose from! It can be a bit overwhelming, but I have found that finding a particular region may be the key to finding your favorite gourmet coffee beans.

Different regions offer different notes and flavors. Some popular gourmet coffee beans include:

Kona Coffee

Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee

Costa Rica coffee

Guatemala coffee

Ethiopian coffee

Many places specialize in growing the most delicious coffee. For instance, Kona coffee is only grown in a certain region of Hawaii. This region is known for it’s daily doses of sunny skies, light mist, and mild soil climates. The result is some of the best coffee in the world!
