Gourmet Coffee Gifts
Shopping for a gourmet coffee lover doesn’t just mean getting another coffee cup, though that’s not a terrible idea either.
If you are not a coffee drinker yourself, you might think that coffee is just coffee. That is not the case, as any lover of gourmet coffee can tell you. Beans from prime coffee regions such as the Jamaican Blue Mountains, Hawaii’s Kona area or pretty much any place in Kenya or Indonesia are considered to be of the highest-quality. A bag of freshly roasted beans from these growing areas would be a welcome gift.
Another option for a unique gourmet coffee gift, would be a subscription to a coffee-of-the-month club. There are lots of them out there, with different products and themes involved. For a set price, a person can receive a pound or more of beans each month to try a new kind of coffee.
For that person who already seems to have everything, there is one gourmet coffee gift you can almost guarantee will be unexpected. The rarest and most expensive coffee in the world is Kopi Luwak, and a few ounces of beans should make any coffee-drinker swoon. Granted, the beans have been eaten and “deposited” on the forest floor before harvest, which somehow doesn’t deter people from saying how wonderful and unique the resulting coffee is. There are only a few online places that sell true Kopi Luwak, so you may need to search.
Other than actual coffee itself, there are all kinds of gourmet gift options: a coffee candle, a hand-crafted pewter espresso tamper, a basket of coffee-scented beauty products (for the ladies), or possibly a batch of chocolate-covered coffee beans.
Coffee drink recipe books are another nice choice, especially those with beautiful mouth-watering photographs. Some cover the making of coffee drinks, and possibly espresso drinks as well. A biscotti cookbook would be enjoyed by a baker who particularly likes traditional espresso.
And when all else fails, who could say no to some gift certificates from your favourite neighbourhood coffee-house.
